Student Individuality

All of the media that surrounds us today is rather overwhelming, and bombards children, who do not even realize what is being shown to them. Children and teens are exposed to over 4000 ads a day, on t-shirts, billboards, TV, and web sites. I think that teachers need to take responsibility to teach children how to take in the information thrown at them by the media. It is necessary that children be able to think critically about what they are seeing and make judgements for themselves, because they might not share the same opinions or perspectives portrayed. It is important for students express their own individuality instead of absorbing and reflecting the thoughts of others, and teachers should encourage individuality of the students.

First YouTube Video

Hahaha! This was a really funny learning experience! As you can see, I am learning how to use this technology, a combination of Macs and YouTube. And, although it's not perfect and not very significant, I can use this experience in the future. Cute and fun! :)

1st Digital Photo Album

BubbleShare: Share photos - Find great Clip Art Images.

This was a very fun and interesting mini project! I have never used a web site to create photo albums and what I liked about this site was the different presentation options and special effects that were offered. Thanks for this handy tool!

First Blog

So, this is me learning more about technology.  I have never created my own blog page before, but this could be interesting.  I know that I need to try harder to become more knowledgeable in the area of technology for the benefit of my future students and for myself.
